Sound connections

Sound connections is a phrase full of meaning for the world of Web 2.0, social media and in-person networking. It speaks to me on my work as a new media consultant, podcast producer, community builder, pubic speaker and conference organizer — everything I do is about making meaningful (or sound) connections with ideas, creativity and people.

Like the work I do and the life I live, my micro manifesto is a work in progress and it guides me to the make sound connections.

  • Learn something new every day
  • Share ideas and knowledge so they can be developed
  • Collaborate with others to make good things great
  • Good and bad, take ownership of the things you do
  • Identify challenges and solve them
  • Help others succeed
  • Believe it can be done
  • Enjoy the journey

As part of this journey, I’m rebranding my blog, markblevis.com, and its accompanying podcast, to echo “sound connections”.

My Micro Manifesto

A few weeks ago, Chris Brogan published his Micro Manifesto — his “small document of guidance”.  Canadian Thanksgiving had me thinking a bit more about his idea.  So, with the blessings of Chris, I have created my own manifesto, borrowing only a little of his.

  • Learn something new every day
  • Share ideas and knowledge so they can be developed
  • Collaborate with others to make good things great
  • Good and bad, take ownership of the things you do
  • Identify challenges and solve them
  • Help others succeed
  • Believe it can be done
  • Enjoy the journey
