An all-encapsulating sentence that Andrea wrote as part of our review of the children’s book Sleeping Dragons All Around for our Just One More Book!! children’s book podcast (JOMB for short) will appear as one of four testimonials on the dust jacket of the 20th anniversary edition of the book.

We’ve become friendly with author Sheree Fitch since we interviewed her for JOMB episode 54, published on November 13, 2006, and we’ve always told her how disappointed we are that Sleeping Dragons and other children’s books she’s written, are no longer available. For Sleeping Dragons, that ends when the 20th anniversary edition is released on January 25, 2009.
A two part series on the release is being featured on Just One More Book. Part one was released earlier today and part two will be released on Monday (December 15).
This is the second time a JOMB testimonial has appeared on the dust jacket of a children’s book. The first time was on Lee Edward Fodi‘s book Kendra Kandlestar and the Door to Unger.

Lee Edward Fodi is about to release his latest children’s book, Kendra Kandlestar and the Door to Unger. Before embarking on an interview recording session that Lee called our Vancouver children’s book pilgrimage, yesterday afternoon, Lee gave me an advanced copy of the book which features a testimonial on the back cover.
In the Box of Whispers, Kendra Kandlestar helped us understand the magic of facing ourselves. Now she’s back — older, wiser and full of spunk — to share with us the incredible power of resisting negativity and being gatekeepers of our own truth.

This is another great example of how podcasting can lead to unexpected achievements and lasting connections.

I had dinner at the Steamworks Brewing Company with Lee Edward Fodi this past evening. Lee is an incredibly talented children’s book author and illustrator and his amazing book, Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers, is one of my top ten favourite books. I highly recommend that you pick up a copy and read it. It makes a great gift from the tooth fairy! (hear a review on Just One More Book and hear an interview with Lee Edward Fodi).
Over dinner, Lee and I talked about Kendra Kandlestar and the Door to Unger (the highly anticipated sequel to Box of Whispers) which will be released in November 2007, public speaking, publishing and book promotion. An interview will be posted on the Just One More Book!! website, and I expect that I will do a number of interviews with Lee as he gears up for the November release.
You can follow progress on the new book on Lee’s blog.
