On January 3rd I put up a post, Inspired by gifter.org, announcing a charity drive. To recap, I announced that I would donate CDN$1 of personal funds for each non-nasty/non-spam comment left of any post on my site during the month of January 2007 to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Last night, I received an incredibly generous offer from Byran Person to donation match up to CDN$25 for the month’s totals.
The official tally for the charity drive, including the donation match, is… CDN$55.

I met Austin Hill at the Montreal Podcast meetup last week. We talked briefly about his site, gifter.org, and his initiative to raise money for charity through blog comments.
Inspired by his idea, Andrea and I will be donating CDN$1.00 to the Raise-A-Reader Foundation for each non-nasty/non-spam comment left on justonemorebook.com (our children’s book Podcast) during the month of January 2007. Because it’s our own money, we will count multiple comments by the same person on the same post as one comment.
Also, I will donate CDN$1.00 to the Children’s Wish Foundation for each non-nasty/non-spam comment left on markblevis.com during the month of January 2007. Again, because it’s my own money, I will count multiple comments by the same person on the same post as one comment.
