Inspired by gifter.org
I met Austin Hill at the Montreal Podcast meetup last week. We talked briefly about his site, gifter.org, and his initiative to raise money for charity through blog comments.
Inspired by his idea, Andrea and I will be donating CDN$1.00 to the Raise-A-Reader Foundation for each non-nasty/non-spam comment left on justonemorebook.com (our children’s book Podcast) during the month of January 2007. Because it’s our own money, we will count multiple comments by the same person on the same post as one comment.
Also, I will donate CDN$1.00 to the Children’s Wish Foundation for each non-nasty/non-spam comment left on markblevis.com during the month of January 2007. Again, because it’s my own money, I will count multiple comments by the same person on the same post as one comment.
Now it’s your turn. Leave your comments, and start your own blog-based charity drive.

Very cool idea. Let’s see how many uplifting and inspiring messages I can leave…. ;)
Well done.

Sounds like a great plan, very cool Mark.
Now if only i could get to your site using the old book-marks, I’d be all set.

Mark, your–what’s it called–auto feed thingy, where you can subscribe in Firefox, etc. and add a live bookmark hasn’t been working the past couple of days. It points to a feed on your server, not your Feedburner feed.

Hi Mark! What a very unselfish way to encourage people to leave comments - seriously.
I saw this post in my FeedRaider and had heard about what you and Andrea are doing on the CPB recently.
Make it a great day!
