I am my brand

It’s not a new idea, it just took me a while to figure it out. I think I started thinking about it during Mitch Joel‘s presentation on personal branding.

I am my brand.

This changes my bio. I’ve removed the third-person bio from the About page on this site, and I’m working on a new bio that comes from me and reflects my passion.

  1. I thought you wrote Billy Joel for a second. Now there is a guy who really is his own brand.

  2. Note to self, wrecking your car repeatedly as a brand is already taken.

  3. I would like to hear you thoughts as you write your new about page. Could you blog about the process? I have been thinking of “yourself as a brand” since a FastCompany article in the 90s. It has always intrigued me, but although I understand and belief in the concept, I have had trouble doing it.

  4. More important than recognizing that you are your brand is that if you’re not working on developing your personal brand, other people are.

    Smoke on that one :)

  5. That’s what Mark did for us, he turned our marriage into a brand. Sort of like “Bennifer”.

  6. Mitch, I quit smoking but I’ll smoke that, if fact it could keep me up tonight.
