I am my brand

It’s not a new idea, it just took me a while to figure it out. I think I started thinking about it during Mitch Joel’s presentation on personal branding.

I am my brand.

This changes my bio. I’ve removed the third-person bio from the About page on this site, and I’m working on a new bio that comes from me and reflects my passion.

  • Mitch, I quit smoking but I'll smoke that, if fact it could keep me up tonight.
  • More important than recognizing that you are your brand is that if you're not working on developing your personal brand, other people are.

    Smoke on that one :)
  • I would like to hear you thoughts as you write your new about page. Could you blog about the process? I have been thinking of "yourself as a brand" since a FastCompany article in the 90s. It has always intrigued me, but although I understand and belief in the concept, I have had trouble doing it.
  • Note to self, wrecking your car repeatedly as a brand is already taken.
  • I thought you wrote Billy Joel for a second. Now there is a guy who really is his own brand.
